HMS Queen Elizabeth

JIT are proud to have products used in the construction of HMS Queen Elizabeth.  The 65,000 tonne aircraft carrier emerged from its dockyard at Rosyth at the end of June and and after completing sea trials, sailed into its home port of Portsmouth on Wednesday 16th August.

A second carrier, The Prince of Wales, is also being built at Rosyth and is still covered in scaffolding.

Each carrier can hold 36 planes and 4 helicopters and is manned by a crew of approx. 700.

JIT's Fire Retardant Neoprene Seals were used in the construction of the 750 doors on board the HMS Queen Elizabeth which can seal off compartments in the event of fire.

At JIT we are proud of our involvement with this project and prouder still to work in partnership with some of the UK's biggest companies.
